Why I'm running

I'm running for Congress because I can't stand the policies of Democrats and Republicans. I'm confident there's a better way.

Republicans and Democrats have cooperated to give us huge (and growing) government, foreign wars, and serious violations of our civil liberties. Government taxation is bad now, and it's only going to get worse.

Libertarians want more freedom and less government. Libertarians usually oppose government programs, even when they're convenient or popular. Libertarians in Congress would tend to vote a lot like Congressman Ron Paul: "No."

"No" sounds negative, but when you say "no" to government, you're really saying "yes" to freedom. You're saying "yes" to free people, making their own decisions to improve their own lives as they see fit.

Republicans and Democrats keep tricking us into voting for them, by scaring us about "what the other party will do." But really, there isn't a dime's worth of difference between Republicans and Democrats. They want us to think there's lot at stake between them—but if you ignore what they say and look at what they do, they're practically the same.

The Libertarian Party is America's third-largest political party. This year, hundreds of Libertarians will be running for President and Congress, all the way down to city councils and small local offices.
